The WIC program helps buy food, helps with health care referrals, educate on nutrition for low income pregnan, breasfeeding, and non breastfeeding postpartum women. Your child can get WIC assistant if your child is an infant or children up to the age of five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
If you want to apply for the WIC program then you will have to contact your State or local agency to set up an appointment. The state agencies are responsible for determining participant eligibility and providing benefits and services, and for authorizing vendors.
Requirements of the WIC Program
The requirement of getting into the WIC Program. You have to a women that is pregnant or 6 weeks after the birth of your child.You can be postpartum and also breastfeeding your child. If you have a infant that is less then a year then you can get it. Your child can also get if he or she is 1 to 5 years old.
